How do we use Atera?
Becoming a member of Athera / Registration phase.
We have to be a member of Athera to use it. To become a member of the Athera, we log in to the official website of the attera and we will see the following screen;
Now we select the "Try It Free" option and a new screen appears. On this screen, that asks us for our e-mail address, company name, password, name and surname.
You can use all its features free of charge for 30 days after you become a member of the Athera.
Adding devices to Atera
The reason we add devices to athera is that we may need to check and monitor the target device in the future. So we have to add the target's device to Atera to control or monitor the device.
Now we are in the main menu of Athera, let's click the "+" option at the top right.
After clicking, there will be 7 options at the top. We will select the "New Generic" option.
After selecting this option, a screen will appear asking us for device information.
Let's fill that screen following this,
"Assing To Costumer"
In this section, it asks which customer (company's) device we will add.
"Append To Folder"
Here it asks us in which folder the device we will add will be located.
"Monitoring Agent"
In this section, it asks us which monitoring tool we will use. In the another section, we ask the status of the device we have chosen to monitor.
"Name" It asks for the name of the device we are about to add here. We can fill this in our own way.
"Hostname/IP Adress"
In this option, it asks us to type the IP address or host name of the device we will add.
Finally, we press the "Save" button at the bottom and our device will be added to Atera.
Controlling the device remotely with Atera
While explaining what athera is, I said that you can monitor and manage devices from a single console. Now we will understand this better. Atera has shared a short video for us to understand, so let's go over that video.
First, we come to the Atera's main menu.
Click on "Devices" in the 4th row on the left then the registered devices appear. You can also see if these devices are active or not.
We select a device and select the "Connect" option on the left of it then we see a screen like this,
Here you can see the features of the device, last activity time and few informations about the device.
We choose the "Connect" option on the right to enter the device.
We are waiting for Atera to connect to the device that we selected, when you try to connect to the device for the first time, it will give an error like this:
We will solve this error as follows:
Just below the error, there is a text that says "Splashstop RMM Client". We click it and it starts downloading Splashstop RMM Client. The program will be downloaded in about 15 seconds.
We click the "connect" option on the left of the device that we want to connect to again and wait a few seconds. In a few seconds, we will be connected to the device we want.
