Are you familiar with DNS security? If you say “I haven’t come to DNS security yet, I’m still try to figure out what the DNS pattern is.”, it’s better to start from the ground up. You have met the definition of DNS that you probably want to access censored sites. Then you download the DNS program to access banned sites, or you thought you had gained internet freedom by changing the DNS settings. Really?

What is DNS? How to Change? What Does It Do?

You can think of DNS as the gateway to the internet. DNS stands for Domain Name System. When you ant to access a page on the internet, you use domain names. On the other hand, web browsers connect to the pages through IP addresses rather than through these names.

This is here the DNS system comes into play as a resolver. DNS servers forward the IP addresses requested by the browsers to them. If you are wondering what it means the DNS server isn’t responding, the answer is in front of you: Your DNS servers can’t resolve IP addresses as a result of a specific error so can’t access web sites.

DNS servers are standard in web browsers. There are also different servers, such as Google DNS for those who want to change DNS settings. To change DNS, you need to click on the Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Connections -> Properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) tab after obtaining the server information.

If you check the automatically retrieve DNS server address box in the window that opens, you ill be connected via standart servers. If you want to use a different DNS server, you also need to fill in the relevant fields. The process of changing DNS to access banned sites is that simple. But is it safe?

DNS Security

Not all DNS addresses on the internet are secure.
Unsecured DNS addresses that you find on the Internet serve malicious people by redirecting you to different IP addresses. For example, when you think you are connected to Google, you might be logging into a similar-looking fake site. They can steal your personal information by being exposed to a trojan attack while browsing these fake sites.

Nowadays, when we think about our personal information (social media user account information, bank passwords, etc.), it shows how important it is to use only trusted DNS addresses or standarts-defined DNS servers.
