Shortly, it's a data science which is about hiding a data. A sender uses this way to deliver his/her blind text to the other side. In many CTF events, we are asked questions under this category.
What is Steghide?
Steghide is a tool that used to hide and reveal secret data and supports JPEG, WAV, AU formats. It can be used in Linux or Windows operating systems. In this topic, i'm gonna show it on Windows.
Find Hidden Message Embedded in Image
Here it is. Our image with hidden message embedded in. Nothing visible to the naked eye.
First of all, click to this link to download the tool. When it's done, move the downloaded folder to desktop.
Then, move your logo into that folder too.
After then, open CMD.
After you opened it, copy the file path to enter into that folder and type the following code into cmd.
Now, it's time to decode it. To do that, type:
and let's just skip this part which is about asking passphrase by pressing Enter. As the output, we got gizli.txt (secret).
Open that text file and get the message. Piece of cake..
